Overview
Fill your pond or water garden with elegant double white blossoms with the Perry's Double White Water Lily. This hardy water lily boasts gorgeous double blossoms in a brilliant snowy white coloration sure to add a sophisticated element to your pond landscape. Developed in 1990 by Perry D. Slocum, the Perry's Double White Water Lily is a free-flowering water lily that produces lovely star-shaped flowers measuring approximately 4 to 6". The Perry's Double White Water Lily produces an abundance of blossoms throughout the height of summer and into late autumn and makes a fantastic addition to ponds, water gardens, and container water gardens.
Even when it's not in bloom, the Perry's Double White Water Lily provides fantastic visual interest with its ornamental, saucer-like leaves or "pads." The Perry's Double White Water Lily produces beautiful bright green pads and typical of hardy water lilies, are round with smooth edges. The leaf spread (or the amount of water surface area covered by the leaves) is approximately 1 to 3 ft and provides needed shade and protection for your pond fish, as well as a potential spawning site for pondlife.
The Perry's Double White Water Lily should be potted in a two-gallon or larger planting container. To help your newly potted water lily establish itself faster in your pond, place the water lily at an initial depth of six inches below the water surface. As the water lily grows, it can be gradually lowered to its ideal depth of 12-18 inches below the water surface. The Perry's Double White Water Lily does best in sunny conditions where it receives six or more hours of direct sunlight. Zones 4-11.
LiveAquaria® offers two groups of Water Lilies: Tropical Water Lilies that thrive in plant hardiness zones 9-11 and Hardy Water Lilies that thrive in plant hardiness zones 4-11. Be sure to select water lily varieties the are hardy to your zone to enjoy long-lasting beauty.
