Overview
The Para Pleco Peckoltia sabaji is a sucker mouth bottom dweller that is also capable of breathing air. It will add interest to the bottom area of your aquarium with its grayish tan body with orange tinges on its fins. What gives it contrast to its surroundings is the fact that it is covered in black spots; smaller spots on the head to mid-body, then large spots from that point to the tip of its tail and throughout each fin.
A freshwater aquarium for the Para Pleco should have a soft substrate like sand or fine gravel to keep this bottom dwelling freshwater fish from harming itself. Provide plenty of hiding areas for this Pleco such as smooth rocks, driftwood, and caves so it has plenty of cover to help it feel safe and reduce stress.
An omnivore, this member of the Loricariidae family will require a variety of meaty and plant based foods in flake, frozen or sinking pellet form.
