Overview

The Flying Arrow Goby has a distinctive look with its longer head and cucumber-shaped body with a distinctive striped pattern in blue and yellow. They have a prominent upper jaw that extends beyond the midline of its eye, and fleshy lips. When viewed from the side, the secondary dorsal fin and anal fin resemble the fletching on an arrow.

In nature, Flying Arrow Gobies make their homes in rocky creeks with naturally clear water. Hobbyists should try to replicate this environment in their home aquarium with a sand or gravel bottom and an added layer of water-worn rocks and pebbles of varying sizes. Although not a feature of their natural habitat, plants provide ample hiding places. A tight-fitting lid or canopy is recommended to prevent escape.

Flying Arrow Gobies are freshwater fish that require a diet rich in small, live foods such as tubifex worms, bloodworms, brine shrimp and daphnia.
