Overview

What do you get when you cross one of the easiest-to-care-for freshwater fish with the brightest new breakthroughs in the aquarium hobby? The perfect starter fish for your desktop, kid's room, or specialty setup!

Fluorescent GloFish® are the first designer-bred Danios (Zebra Fish) to come in five neon colors: Starfire Red®, Electric Green®, Sunburst Orange®, Cosmic Blue®, and Galactic Purple®. GloFish® are not dyed and their color, which is inherited from their parents, does not fade!

Original generations of GloFish® were genetically enhanced as embryos to help detect environmental pollutants and advance scientific research. Now every generation of GloFish is born with its amazing color! The brilliant hues are produced by a fluorescent protein gene which occurs naturally in some marine organisms.

Keeping GloFish® is as easy as keeping Danios. For best care, keep this peaceful fish by themselves in small aquariums or in small schools with equally non-aggressive fish. Since they are omnivores, feed GloFish® a varied diet of flake and frozen foods.

Approximate Purchase Size: 1" to 2"

Customer Testimonials

This little guy stands out like a highlighter. I don't have a light in my tank and I can always spot my Glo Danio. Especially when the sun hits the tank. I keep him with community fish as well as other Danios and he gets along swimmingly. Great fish, great coloring.
