Similar to the farming practices that have provided us with crops and other food for centuries, aquacultured corals and invertebrates - as well as captive-bred or tank-raised fish - are grown and cared for in controlled environments for the specific purpose of providing aquarists with aquatic life for their home aquariums.

The vast majority of all freshwater species available are farm-raised or captive-bred both in the U.S. and in the Far East. Due to technological advancements in aquaculture, considerable efforts are being made today in the propagation of live coral and invertebrates, as well as numerous species of saltwater fish that are now becoming available in a consistent supply.

Whenever possible we offer captive-bred fish, as well as aquacultured corals and invertebrates as an option for our customers. These captive-bred fish are of equivalent size and coloration to wild-caught specimens, which makes them the ideal choice for any hobbyist.
